Our Lineage Was Stolen

It’s time to name that our soul lineage was stolen, sisters.

Our sense of embodied divinity reflected in a Divine Feminine deity was corrupted and co-opted thousands of years ago, when masculine power became the dominating spiritual and political force.

There was a time when the Feminine was sacred (along with–not instead of–the masculine.) With Her honoring, the ways of compassionate communication, direct connection to source, sacred creativity and reverence for the Earth were practiced.

But just because that loss happened long ago, we’re still impacted today. While women (especially white) have more power and equality than ever, patriarchy (white male dominance) is still in full force. Domination, not partnership, is the dominant paradigm. ☹

Sure, it’s not as bad today as in recent centuries (women are no longer tortured and burned as witches, for example, and can now own property and vote). But listening to our sisters of color, it’s not that much better.  How else could a person bidding to be US president brag about grabbing us by our “private parts” still get elected!?

Women are still marginalized and “othered” along with non-whites, non-Christians, non-heterosexuals.  And as white women we must stand with our brothers and sisters who are being harmed and discarded. We are not that far from danger, unless we align with white patriarchy. (No thanks.)

While I recognize the privilege I’ve inherited, I also know that’s what unconsciously keeps us silent and from speaking up to the atrocities. Yes, we’re busy and it’s hard to know where to begin. The sheer volume of tragedy and trauma—personal and environmental crisis everywhere we look—is hard to know how to deal with.

But white women are in a unique position to have impact. Perhaps this what the Dali Lama meant when he said, ”the world will be saved by Western Women.”

So I start here. Imperfectly and vulnerably.

Let’s reclaim our sisterhood.

awaken the inner priestess of the temple within. The soft sacred core of our spiritual center that calls us home. (And this doesn’t mean discarding your current spiritual tradition, just adding to it.)

Re-awakening as immanent beings opens our Divine connection, saying “Yes” to life and light. And “no more” to hate, violence and greed. Create connection, not conflict and divisiveness. Activating the Magdalene Mysteries for the good of the whole.

This is a turn to Love (as a force not an emotion) and toward the holy within. As we claim and embody our priestess self, we are empowered in our divinity. Our voice returns. Wobbly perhaps with fear, we stand for what we know our hearts and souls as Truth and against what we know to be violation of our sacred vows.

This Feminine Soul empowerment is not about “yoga pants lifestyle coaching” promising “6 steps to 6 figures in 6 seconds”. I’m so annoyed by that.

It’s about upleveling your life because your soul requires it, you have a bigger calling that’s for the good of the whole. This change isn’t just FOR ourselves, it’s for the world.  Are you with me?

If so, consider joining us next week…
