In the weeks since I launched the Awaken Sleeping Beauty Retreats, I have experienced a ground swell of support, interest and enthusiasm.
Women all around the country are magnetizing to this theme with a resounding YES! The impact of this reaction is making me realize: this is something big. We are onto something, sisters.
I traveled around the country recently. I was delighted to see this yearning for the divine feminine that I have been seeing is not a unique “left coast” phenomenon.
I was at my high school reunion and was amazed at the outpouring of interest from my Catholic school classmates. Many had left the religion of our youth, but had not found something else.
Not one woman I spoke with felt engaged or met by that religious structure.
Some had amazing “work-arounds” to maintain a religious path and hierarchy that did not reflect their needs or values. For others, it was a choice of “if not this, what else?”
Life looks good on the outside, but inside there is a deep longing for a spiritual experience that lives in our bones.
And I don’t think we are looking for another religion. I think the masculine based religious structure is well established. For many that still serves. But many of us are hungering, searching for something deeper that fits our unique feminine experience.
We don’t need new dogma, we’ve had enough of that. We are aching for texture. To sit in silence, ask great questions and experience processes that bring us deeply into communion with each other and that grander, sacred part of life.
With that, we find answers and truth that lies dormant within each of us. I’m up for that.
