5 Big Takeaways for Creating Your Dreams

It’s the last day of our Boost the Balch to Brilliance crowdfunding campaign. (Ends Midnight PST May 7) We’ve had over 35 participants support our dream and vision. With donations from $10 to $500, it’s amazing to feel the support. We raised close to $3000 dollars!!

iggArticle5 pic1And wow what a wild ride. In the past month we’ve sold the house, lost the sale; received, rejected and revised the hotel sale and partnership agreement, with moving dates that collapsed and revived. Like phoenix from ashes.

It’s been a true Shero’s Journey to move through all the ups and downs to where we are today.

Here’s a few takeaways thus far. I’m guessing it’ll help you too:

~ As we get closer to our dream, obstacles come up. That doesn’t mean it’s not the right thing to do, or that there is anything wrong with you. It’s just life stretching you. It’s full of blessings and challenges: nothing personal.

Keep staying connected to the Source that guides you and take aligned action. No forcing, but no collapsing either. A delicate dance.

~ As we set out on our intended destination we have ideas and inklings of what that path could look like.  But that doesn’t necessarily have any reflection on the process or the actual intended outcome. Things morph and move along the way. Shift happens.

When we have a clear vision, we can be limiting ourselves from the true magic and magnificence that is really meant to happen. Be open, let it emerge through you. What’s trying to happen is so much more than we could really dream or imagine.

~ Divine Guidance is available every step of the way–but only when we stop and ask. Ask often. As I have done this, I’ve been amazed at the depth and clarity that comes through. Bonus: it is  often far more compelling than my limited vision can hold.

iggArticle9 pic2~ You can’t do your dream by yourself. Even if you have a unique and compelling vision, it takes a village to raise a dream. We are not meant to do our incredible lives alone. Our American ideals of independence really isolate and cripple us.

We need each other to get any truly meaningful or significant project done. Without the steadfast talents and consistent efforts of my husband Josiah, none of this would be happening. I feel blessed by my allies. You are among them.

~ Take time for fun and self-care. If we achieve our goals but are run ragged in the process, I doubt it’s really worth it. Stay aligned with Joy.

And when it’s not working (and there are those days) it’s okay to say f* it. Go to the river and get some sun. Or take a bath, watch a movie, or drink wine with girlfriends who love you.  Don’t take it so seriously. Life is meant to be in-joyed. Then the day after, get back in the rodeo.

~ When in doubt or despair, default to gratitude. So much is going in your favor—look for it! I’ve been so amazed at the upwelling of support from people I’d never expect. (I’ve also been disappointed by those who I thought were my allies. Let’s not go there, not my problem.)

I’m truly grateful for the emotional, financial, spiritual and other support, often from unexpected sources. This is not about my dream; it’s really about believing in and supporting ANY dream. This time it’s ours. Next will be yours.

We all rise together. By supporting our dream you get to be in on the ground floor of something that is so far past our imagining.

iggArticle9 pic1It’s a new world: we are creating it together. Thanks for being part of it.
