How I Re-Discovered My Soul Inspired Life

2022-09-15T20:58:21+00:00

I just finished a month long sojourn: a sacred pause, retreat, or odyssey. “What?” you might ask, “How can you leave for so long?” Well, it’s been necessary. Like many in this post-pandemic world, I’ve had life situations that I needed to get clarity and new perspective on. Vague discontent, malaise, exhaustion. Maybe you can relate. It’s a huge gift to take this time away. Here’s the secret of all pilgrimages and sabbaticals: it’s not all glamour. It’s been glorious…and, hard. Sure, you might visit glorious sites, with awesome Insta-worthy experiences, but these journeys of soul are initiations, with portals to

Something Potent Happening This Month

#MagdaleneMemo: I got a big download with an exciting/scary idea. (Most of the good ones are, aren't they?)   Each year, on the 22nd of July, Mary Magdalene’s life is celebrated. The Catholic Church refers to this as her Feast Day, but that may not have meaning for you or I. Think of it as a holy day.   What is important is that 6 years ago Mary Magdalene's honor was officially restored by the same political/religious institution that claimed her a fallen prostitute for over 1,400 years.   In 2016 Pope Francis corrected this grotesque mistake and instead crowned

Finding a New Way

2022-07-15T21:09:53+00:00

It's been a struggle lately. Moments of beauty, joy and gratitude flanked by bad news, roiling emotions, & worrisome thoughts. How do we bear it? There are no platitudes, no spiritual bypass to endure this stretch, this ache in the heart of humanity. So much feels so old, decaying,  with expired use-by dates. As this old paradigm is dying, out dated parts of our lives are coming back for review and reclamation. Hard stuff. Even though we want the better version our lives, change is challenging. And the Dalai Lama famously quoted, "The world will be saved by western women."

A Christianity We’ve Never Fully Tried

2022-04-18T21:51:54+00:00

Growing up Catholic, Good Friday always seemed to be named wrong. (I mean, what was so good about a crucifixion, except a day off from school?!) I've strayed from that path, but I've always been drawn to deeper story not always told. The hidden wisdom traditions. Even before I received guidance and "met" Mary Magdalene in meditation her real story was compelling to me. Ok, obsession. In the Christian Gospels we see her prominently in the Easter story, and yet her importance has been downplayed. Her story corrupted. But her time has come. As I've deepened into the mysteries of

Slow the F Down, Sister

2022-04-18T21:37:37+00:00

If you’re like me, you move through the world pretty quickly. You get a lot done, you have ideas and goals that you achieve, and you’re managing many tasks and ideas at one time. (At least ideally.) That’s not a bad thing, and in fact our culture has rewarded us for this way of being. But sometimes it doesn’t work so great huh? It can lead to chronic fatigue. Waves of exhaustion, injury, unhappiness, and burnout. I recently went through a time that felt like racing through my life. To what end? It just felt imperative to keep up this

Hopes Spring Eternal?

2022-07-15T21:54:16+00:00

Everywhere we signs of new life: tulips, kittens, wild winds and big white puffy clouds. Threats of rain... and snow! It must be Spring! And I reach for it, as the old guard clings with death grips to whatever last remnants of "normal"--a group psychosis called "reality." I know as a white middle class woman, I've benefited from it, but still it needs to end. "It" being racism, environmental suicide, capitalistic destruction, housing & mental health crises, misogyny, sexism. As women we are charged to find a new way:  great positive change for the good of all. We feel this in

Recapture Your Alignment with Source

2022-04-18T21:47:18+00:00

Breathing in, at the end of my meditation and prayer practice, I ground and connect. Returning to my center and spiritual practices, to recapture my own divine alignment. The craziness of the world “out there” only mirrors the confusion and chaos in the collective, that’s being felt, and has been for a long time. But we don’t have to step into that. We can recapture our Divine Alignment and live harmony. Once again, this is a shift from the toxicity of the masculine gone awry, entering a deeply feminine state of grace. How do we do this? Alchemy in Motion Together

2022-04-18T21:29:43+00:00

There’s something about hundreds of hours in a car that makes my mind go flat line. Maybe it was road rash. Now that I’m fully back from our month long road trip to the Southwest US, I thought I’d share a glimpse. It wasn’t all ideal—like any trip there were initiations and dark nights of soul—but some cool shifts and practices emerged that I thought I’d share. So many things I expected fell away. Working? Nearly non-existent internet access. Contemplation or planning? My soul's unwillingness to focus. I was unable to have deep or worrisome thoughts.(A welcome respite.) But

Surrendering to Now

2022-04-18T21:12:54+00:00

Lately it’s obvious (though I’ve been thinking this for a while:) What if we stopped fighting “what is,” the near-constant struggle to fix and change life in 2021, our covid-tainted intensity, uncertainty, and strife? What if we are missing the point of all it? (Remember the Great Reset? Did we get it?) What if there are (even more) blessings, as-yet unacknowledged and unreceived in our absent attention? What if there’s a better way to live that’s trying to peek through? Instead of fighting, can you let that in? Lately I’m knowing that pushing and driving mostly no longer works. Consistent

Receive Your Life

2022-04-18T21:22:59+00:00

I love this quiet reflective season. During these waning days of the year, I love to do a really thorough annual review. I’ve found over time that it’s SO helpful to see the year with a fuller perspective, so the lens is not my memory of the last few months. (I’m always shocked by the goodness that happened, in July or last March for example.) What I’m noticing this year is that despite our best intentions and efforts, things have not gone “back to normal” and seem to be highly chaotic still. We are not over this process that Gaia/Earth
